Action With Communities in Rural England
ACRE and its network of Rural Community Councils together deliver a Village Hall Information and Advice Service in England. A series of Village Hall Information Sheets are available for purchase. However, take care as some information may only be applicable to England.
CADISPA
CADISPA (Conservation and Development in Sparsely Populated Areas) is an independent charity concerned with helping local people in rural Scotland to build a sustainable community ‘for themselves – by themselves’. To achieve this, CADISPA forms a partnership with a local community and offers them support, funding and legal advice, community based research and access to a network of other groups across Scotland that have experienced self-initiated rural development over the recent past.
Community Halls for Rural People
Community Halls for Rural People has been set up by DEFRA in partnership with Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) as a website for village and community halls in England. It aims to raise awareness of available funding and advice sources for village halls and other community buildings and to provide useful contacts.
Community Matters
A nationwide federation for community associations. They have a number of information sheets available for purchase that are useful for hall committees. However, take care as some information may use English law.
